Running the Cardiff Half Marathon

On October 1st 2017 several of our staff and volunteers ran Cardiff Half Marathon as part of #TeamDrewChordoma, in memory of 4 year old Drew Barker-Wright, who died of an ultra rare cancer in February this year. 

#TeamDrewChordoma was made up of nearly 60 people, a truly mixed bunch, from experienced runners to complete beginners, the results for Talgarth Mill staff and volunteers were as follows:

Sarah Andrews, volunteer Trustee, finished in 2 hours and 13 seconds.

Jon Wright, baker and Drew's daddy, finished in 2 hours 33 minutes and six seconds together with his wife, Drew's mummy, Mel.

Fiona Gray, Director and part time pizza chef at The Bakers' Table, finished in 2 hours 46 minutes and 39 seconds.

Jane Vamplew, member of staff at The Bakers' Table, finished in 3 hours 38 minutes and 27 seconds.

Nicola Willis, Director at The Bakers' Table, finished alongside Jane.

Chris Blake, volunteer Trustee was unable to run due to injury.

Sponsorship of approximately £1600 for the cafe staff Jane and Nicola will go to the Drew Barker-Wright Charity to fund research and help other families living with Chordoma.
