Talgarth Mill is still producing flour, but access to the working mill and gardens is closed to the public. Our flour and bread kits can be pre-ordered by email
The Bakers' Table Cafe & Bakery is open for the sale of bread, other baked goods, and takeaways 10am-2pm Thursday and Friday, and 9.30am-2pm on Saturday. We are closed Sunday to Wednesday. 
There is no sit down cafe service following Government guidelines.
Talgarth Mill Craft Shop currently closed.

'A Taste of Milling' Experience

A chance to turn back time


Do you fancy stepping back in time and
becoming a traditional miller?

If so, our “Taste of Milling” Experience is just the thing for you.

Why not visit us and join one of our experienced millers
for a special guided session and learn how to:

  • Check the stones, engage the wheel and prepare for milling
  • Select the grain – wheat, spelt or rye – and use our hand-turned winnower to clean the grain ready for milling
  • Start the wheel – open the sluice gates, open the leat and get the wheel turning
  • Mill! Watch grain turn to flour, monitor production and take newly milled flour to be bagged.
  • Enjoy your own stone-milled flour at home!


Booking an Experience

Our Taste of Milling” Experience sessions are available throughout the week based on our milling schedule. 

Morning Start Time: 10am – 11.30am;
Afternoon Start Time: 2pm – 3.30pm.
Duration: 1.5 hours
Cost: £15 per person
